Welcome

Debbie Bent has owned and bred harlequin Great Danes for over 30 years. Early on in her experience with the breed, she met Eva Robinson of Riverwood Ranch Harlequins. Debbie knew that Eva’s bloodline was one of the finest in the United States and purchased a harlequin Great Dane puppy from Eva in 1974. Debbie has had Riverwood Danes ever since. Eva has mentored Debbie in breeding, helping select the best match for the highest quality puppies. Bent-On Danes originated with the intent of furthering the quality of the Great Dane breed, deeply rooted in the Riverwood line. Bent-On Danes is located in Southern California. Debbie Bent, and her husband Bruce, are active members of the Great Dane Club of California and also belong to the Great Dane Club of America.

Bent-On Danes is comprised of a small, intimate family. Three dogs are family members of the household. Each one has been lovingly raised indoors, not in kennels or runs. Much time has been spent with each dog, fully socializing him or her within the community and with other dogs. All members are obedience trained and have been shown in conformation rings all over California and throughout portions of the United States. Occasionally a litter is produced for the purpose of improving the breed, at which time puppies may be available only to loving homes. Bent-On Danes believes in quality, not quantity. Regular health screening and health certifications are top priority. Litters are not produced with the intention of profit.

Pumpkin, although not a Great Dane (but don’t tell her that), is a family member who resides in New York. Her photos have been included in this web site for your enjoyment. Pumpkin holds the AKC title of Canine Good Citizen (CGC).
